The Marker Baron EPF bindings get a refresh, like most other Marker bindings this year, and they continue to be a fan-favorite for skiers who aren't looking for a pin-tech type of touring setup. If you're happy touring in your downhill boots and don't want to compromise on that performance, then the Marker Baron continues to be a fantastic choice. One of the fun by-products of these frame-style touring bindings is that they lift you up higher off the snow, and for those times that you're ripping resort laps, this will give you much more leverage over the edge of the ski, allowing for deeper carves and trenches than pretty much any other alpine touring binding. The Baron gets the Royal Family treatment for this year, with the Griffon-style heel and the new Royal toe. These heel pieces are easy to step in and out of, allowing for an easier use and a more friendly nature. Still quite burly and capable, the Baron loves to be pushed to the edge. With a pivot in the toe, when you release the heel, it's a free-swinging style of touring that has a very efficient nature. Thanks to the ongoing progress in the sport of alpine touring and backcountry skiing, something like the Marker Baron finds a fanbase and sticks to it. Skiers looking to spend most of their time in bounds with the occasional skin should look no further than the Marker Baron.
